Water Testing:

Legionella

Our UKAS accreditation covers both 1L filtration and 200ml centrifugation methods so whether you are testing to comply with the guidance document HSG274 and other publications such as HSG282 for spa pools and the Healthcare Memorandums HTM 04-01 and HTM 01-05. The analysis we perform will be UKAS accredited. Both methods have a detection limit of 20 cfu/L

Spa-pools/Hot Tubs.

Do you have a spa-pool/hot tub at home? Are you concerned about the water quality? Or do you have a holiday cottage/mobile home with one that paying guests use? If so, do you know that Government guidance HSG282 states “It is a legal duty to carry out an assessment to identify and assess whether there is a risk posed by exposure to Legionella and other infectious agents from the spa-pool system or any work associated with it”.

The document goes on to say that “The monitoring programme should include the routine monthly sampling and testing for the presence of bacteria and should include an ACC (or total viable or total colony count), coliforms, E. coli, and P aeruginosa, in addition to quarterly tests for legionella.”

We have a test suite suitable for both domestic and commercial users to cover these requirements and sample bottles to allow easy sampling of spa-pool/hot tub water.

Contact us for more information on how we can help you ensure you remain compliant with Government guidance and prove reliable regular testing to keep your pool in a healthy state.
